Alternatively...

Ghirahim: "You're not going anywhere."

Painted using nothing but The Gimp 2.4.7

So sorry. I believe I'm nearly done with Skyward Sword, and I've been loving it so, so much. I'm on the LAST dungeon! But I had to stop and draw some fanart first. It's just been nagging me.

I was shocked to discover that Ghirahim was actually MORE flamboyant and MORE sadistic than I thought he would be after seeing the E3 footage. And seriously, he's fixated on Link. He's even talking about a red thread of fate binding them and everything, which, if you're familiar with Japanese mythology, means that the perceived homoeroticism isn't even subtext at this point, though I'm quite sure it's entirely one-sided. I think Link would be perfectly content to never see that bastard again.

But yeah, as creepy and hilarious and altogether melodramatic and psychotic as Ghirahim is, I luv him.

The music I've been listening to while working on this: [link] looping continuously. You know what's terrible? I haven't played Spirit Tracks yet. EVEN THOUGH I OWN THE GAME. I wanna beat Phantom Hourglass first, which I've nearly done. I just haven't had a lot of time lately, and now I'm distracted by Skyward Sword. XD But I was so excited when I heard that the team that developed Phantom Hourglass would be working on Skyward Sword, because PH had some of the most creative and innovative puzzles and abilities based on utilizing the DS capabilities to their fullest. So the Wii being the Wii, I knew we were in for a treat when it came to puzzle design and item controls. Took me forever in PH to figure out that when they wanted me to "stamp" a glyph (one one screen) onto my map (on the other screen), I was supposed to close the DS and reopen it. XD

Ghirahim, Link, and The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword are (c) Nintendo.

Painted as a follow-up to this:

Because I painted that back in June before the game was even out, and all we had was E3 footage. That, and I've learned a thing or two about digital watercoloring since then. That painting is actually very sloppy and I wasn't paying enough attention to details. The new painting is partially to show what I've learned since the first one, but also partially just because I love Skyward Sword, Ghirahim, and his interactions with Link.
