Murder :Skyward Sword:

EDIT: This painting was done in June, way before the game was released.

is a follow-up to this picture, painted AFTER having played the game, and after I learned a thing or two about digital watercoloring.

I went ahead and painted [link] this immediately.

The painterly style of Skyward Sword is really fun to mimic, actually!

I would like to note that this is the very first serious, digital painting of Zelda fan art I have ever done in my life. I have done other serious fan arts and a few Zelda doodles before this one. What does this mean? Nothing at all, except that hopefully all future Zelda fan art will be even better. I think I can thank the excitement about Skyward Sword for inspiring me to finally try my hand at the Zelda series.

Painted entirely with The Gimp 2.4.7, took about 8 hours, I think.

Okay, okay. I really should explain. Ghirahim tells Link, "I won't murder you. I'll just beat you within an inch of your life!" But the vibe I'm getting says he'd sure as hell LIKE to murder Link. Some day. So I took that scenario and fleshed it out a little.

Ghirahim is fabulous, but he's also quite unsettling and even disturbing. He's a creepy bastard and Link NEEDS AN ADULT. If I were Link, I'd feel a little violated after having Ghirahim whispering threats of murder in my ear, yeah? The way he has no respect for personal space, I think he'd make it pretty personal. I feel sorry for Link. I think fighting Ganondorf would be preferable to facing this creeper. (don't get me wrong, I love Ghirahim. But I'm sure Link wants to stay as far away from him as possible)

I don't do much dark fan art these days, but it's kind of fun to dabble in it once in a while.
