My reaction when I heard that Skyward Sword lost to Skyrim for game of the year was similar, Link. I'm so sorry.




Skyward Sword Spoilers:

This is one of my favorite scenes in the game. Link's grief is palpable, dammit. His expression is heartwrenching.
Zelda has just asked him to wake her a thousand years from now, as she goes into a deep slumber to atone for the way she used Link by protecting the seal on Demise. Link can only watch helplessly as she imprisons herself in a great crystal.

End Spoilers.

The music is from the scene right after Zelda gets kidnapped, and her father is regretfully telling Link about the overwhelming burden he must now bear, while he is powerless to help his own daughter. When I saw that one of Link's dialogue options in response was "It's... so much..." I got a lump in my throat.

Skyward Sword is one of the most emotional Zelda games I have ever played, and the characters of Link and Zelda are rich, and the most believable I have ever seen. For the first time in my life, I think I want to save Zelda as badly as Link does.

Right, so I beat the game a few days ago. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

And now, HERO MODE! F@#$ YEAH! D: Oh right, I didn't get good at blocking attacks until the final battle, where it became a necessity. Time to actually learn how to DODGE. and Shield bash in a timely manner. My whole strategy is usually to try to kill the other guy before he can hit me, lol.
