Heh, if you make it so Zelos has the highest affection toward you (Lloyd), he drops hint after hint after HINT that he has a crush on Lloyd. It makes me so happy!!!! Lloyd may be naive, but when he goes all introspective, Zelos really opens up and pours his heart out to Lloyd.
And keeps dropping hints. And gets all touchy-feely. I mean, he strides up to Lloyd in front of everybody and hugs him from behind during this one conversation, and he stays like that for a while. Sheena starts getting jealous, eventually.
The grumbly guy on the left is Lloyd's (long lost) father, Kratos. He's 4,022 years old.

Tales of Symphonia, the one for the Gamecube. It's the only game in the "Tales of..." series that I've played so far.
As to the unhappy daddy... Kratos and Zelos do NOT get along. It borders on outright hatred. I don't think Kratos is so much worried about Lloyd- he just doesn't like Zelos. Zelos is a philandering, perverted, womanizing idiot. I say that fondly. He literally hits on every single female in the game. Play as him, set his ex-ability to personal, and he hits on female NPCs and gets you free items. If you hit on every female in the game, you unlock a new outfit for him and earn the title "Pickup Master." XD
But all of that is really just a facade he puts up to hide his inner turmoil and self-hatred. He lives a shallow life as self-protection, a shield against the world. He's actually a very deep person, but only if you get him to open up to Lloyd.
NEVER pass up any opportunity to warm up to Zelos in the game, or you'll miss out on a lot. Be careful about Kratos, or something truly tragic will happen to Zelos. Now, if you WANT Kratos instead (late in the game), ignore everything I just said.
Just to warn you, it's a very long game. My first play-through took 61 hours. At the very shortest, it's a 40 hour game. But it's also the best RPG ever released for the 'cube, and now one of my favorite games of all time.

You're quite welcome! Mind you, you won't be seeing Zelos until quite a ways into the game.
Tales of Symphonia has a sequel coming out on the Wii- Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk. Zelos is in it, so that means they went with one of the first game's two possible endings (the "keep Zelos" ending). Kratos, however, is still unconfirmed.
Use numerous save files so you can go back and see different scenes and stuff when it forces you to choose who Lloyd has major dialog with. Particularly near the end of the game when you go to the snowy town for a doctor. (Hint, hint!!!)
If you want the Zelos scenes/dialog, be nice to him and not so nice to everyone else, otherwise there's no way to guarantee you'll get him. I screwed up by being nice to EVERYONE and ended up without even getting Zelos as an OPTION.
...So I'm starting the game over. You get cool bonuses and things you can transfer to a new save file once you beat the game. I kept all of my skills and high-level magic so I could use it from the beginning of the game. n_~
