Artist's Comments

I had a dream once, a long time ago, where a fox like this appeared. I never had the means to properly depict the fox, before. But now I can, so I present this to you!

I mostly just used the spark brush with a gradient and the smudge tool, and I put it on a patterned background (starscape). I used some other brushes, too, but my fav is the spark brush. I drew the outline first, then shaded with a brush on the gradient setting.

Very nice. It certainly has the "wow" factor.
Bonus ponts for using GIMP, and using it well!

n_n I actually like the Gimp! It has cool brushes. I did that pic at 2:00 in the morning out of boredom, and the fact that the dream fox had... revisited my mind? I dunno... considering how little sleep I got that week, I was probably hallucinating it... :O_o: Oh, well. Glad you like! It was really actually very simple to do... and I did it with a MOUSE. I just put the starscape pattern as the background and used the eraser on it a little, then drew the outline with a simple brush on the gradient setting, then used the star and galaxy brushes to fill in the fox, again with a gradient, then did the same for the eye and crystal, then smudged it alot. I used the spark brush on a gradient and as itself to get the sparkles. But, man, it turned out cool. I could recreate it in about 10 minutes, sadly.... The smudge tool is my best friend! :boogie:

Thanks! This was the very first piece I ever produced with The Gimp. It was an experiment, and I like the results.

Trapped in the city of steel and lies,
You have no worth but what death buys!
Strive to secure your own damnation;
Your blood and tears are the only salvation!
